Visit of the power supply used for the West area (WA), Dec.2004

On the site of ATLAS/point 1 building 873 is located. The two transformers are placed outside, as they are cooled with an oil circuit. Inside the building one can find the power converter. It consists of 8 thyristor banks, the LC circuit with inductance (origin!)/capacitors and the DCCT. The old controls should be replaced with the new PS standard (also LHC standard possible). The power supply was operational until a few weeks ago.

There are two different, usable types of 18kV cells (1,2) in building 193.
