- study made assuming TT2A is the test site.
- best solution: dewar at top of access shaft of TT2, place concrete fundament, temporarily a dewar 6000 l. (needs construction permit)
- Existing dewar (6000 l) in bat. 180 of Atlas and next to building 230, another 50m3 somewhere; rent a dewar from outside (20kChF/year)
- 200l per cooling cycle (safe estimation), if foreseen for 500 cycles -> 15 refills of large dewar, 10 shots per day -> refill every three days; 1000 l are needed to cool from ambient to operating temperature.
- why a "permanent" dewar solution is preferred than mobile dewars
- cold lines (Alcatel Kabelmetall):
simple (for LN2 only) contains channel for one flow (~500ChF/m); 4x25 meter possible available in bat 180
shielded (for He or LN2 flow) contains forth- and backflow in one tube (~1000 ChF/m), 2x50 meter possible available in BA4
- vac pump: approx 1000m3/hour needed
        2 primary pumps, ROOT pump 4kW -10 mbar, He 1500 m3/h cooled to 1.9 K, corresponds to LN2 100 g/sec
ROOT pump available (description), small leak -> not useful for He operation, for LN2 is fine, variable frequency/flow rate adjustment
needs check (outsourced: a few kChF) and refurbishment (3 man-months)
TT2A LN2 circuit needs to be pumped to 200 mbar
- passive heater
        15-20 kW, He 10-12 g/sec
        corresponds to the LN2 100 g/sec needed
        size of heater: 1x1.5x2 m3

- to drain LN2 in cold state, a Helium supply is needed to pressurize the solenoid channels

- responsibility sharing (doc-version): FH advises parts designed and constructed in the US.
        MIT: designs&constructe DVB (contact J.Sondericker)

- controls placed towards ISR connected to TT2A via small access gallery, process control: UNICOS supported at CERN, LabView is not supported

- solenoid construction: Everson (coils), VCBIT (cryo), Emmaus, Pennsylvania

- time schedule of TT2A target test, see General&Physics meeting

- to collect the information above needed 3 man*weeks
- cryogenics estimate: 1.5 man*years, 50 kChF (to be reevaluated in detail)

scheduled videoconference 13.April 17:00-18:00 CERN time (invite as well B.Pichler, G.Lindell)
